NYFW is always an interesting time, and this round was no exception. The trends were very clear as bold eyes and dewy skin took over most of the shows. By Maria Colina Saab.
Tadashi Shoji (below) brought out its signature feminine style from a different point of view this time. The models’s skin look almost untouched besides from a thin layer of foundation as the attention was focused on the eyes. A Twiggy inspired look with a twist was the idea as the lower lashes were painted on the under eye, while the spaces were filled with different colors of glitter, making the slight detail stand out and make the whole look fun and flirty.
Christian Siriano (below) didn’t fail to impress either. Just like the Tadashi, the focus of the make up waskept on the eyes. Warm shades of copper with a a bit of a wet effect on top covered the entire lids and dripped down till the cheeks. The face had the perfect porcelain skin touch and a just the right amount of baby pink blush while, chunky fish braids were the complement to finish this beautifully nostalgic look.
Let’s thank Nicholas K, as he gave us a look that we can actually apply to our everyday, whilestill being a bit edgy. Wet hair has being everywhere these last few months and this show was no exception with the model’s locks swept to the side. Gold was also everywhere to be found on this look, on the big, as cool as it gets jewelry, the nails, and ultimately the eyes. A thick layer of gold eyeliner which went all around the eyes, matched with glossy lips made a heavenly combination putting together this bronzed vision.
