For Maria-Grazia Chiuri's very first Dior collection, Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Make-up, returned to the theme of a multifaceted woman, which had also served as the inspiration for "Cosmopolite," his own very first collection for Dior make-up. This shared vision of versatile femininity remains faithful to the Dior spirit.
As Peter Philips specifies, "This collection is a starting point that plays above all with the radiance and certitude of a natural, yet confirmed femininity. An eclectic selection of models provided a mosaic of very different faces. What unites them is their very luminous, glowy beauty."
Complexion: The complexion is capital in this look, which emphasizes perfect luminosity. Peter Philips describes a routine comprising several steps: "To get that glowy effect, I first applied Diorskin Forever & Ever Wear Primer, then used Diorskin Forever Fluid Foundation. I followed that with Diorskin Forever & Ever Control powder in order to remove shine, and added a few touches of Flash Luminizer under the eyes, as well as Fix It for corrections. Finally, Diorskin Nude Air Colour Gradation in "Rising Pink" was dusted lightly over the cheekbones to add subtle and fresh colour.
Eyes: Peter Philips explains: "The eyes are soft. First I curled the lashes, then applied the lightest shade from the "Coral" Colour Gradation palette across the eyelid. A line of Diorshow Khôl in beige inside the eye opened the eye, and as a finishing touch, a light coat of black Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara was applied to the tips of the upper lashes." He adds, "Eyebrows were defined using the Diorshow Brow Styler for a naturally graceful look."
Lips: Lips also looked natural and discreet: "lips were prepared with the new Lip Sugar Scrub which provides gentle exfoliation. Then I applied Lip Glow Pomade, which gives transparent shine."
Nails: Nails looked discreet in Diorlisse Abricot as a neutral base.
Hair: Styled by Guido Palau, hair was youthful and revealed the face. Hair was simply worn in a small high bun in the front, while at the back of the head, hair was plaited from the nape up to the bun.
